Supporting Neurodiversity - accepting and supporting dyspraxia etc as strengths to work with.
No pathelogical explanation for dyslexia, etc, so accepted as part of the normal development of the human brain.

- Student
- Environment
- Tasks
- Tools
Student - barriers, strengths, what’s working well, what’s worked in the past, what helps to engage, barriers to independence?
Environment - barriers, not just the physical, emotional environment, approaches of the teacher, etc.
Tasks - what’s important for student “right now” what do they need instantly in order to move forward
Tools - what attributes does a potential tool need to have to support the student - go for the needs, this helps to narrow down an appropriate tool.
Mid-Low Tech Solutions:
Coloured transparencies, visual schedules, etc.
High Tech - heaps of options available
Thinking Inside the Black Box:
A thinking technique
Black box is a vault, inside is the perfect solution.
To unlock the black box and find the ‘perfect tool’ need to be able to unpack all of the options - needs, abilities, method of access, durability, touch screen, etc.
Activity:
Red - the situation right now
Green - options to try
